Live Large

I couldn't resist having a picture made with Santa Buffalo.  He just makes you smile.  The sign "live large" is really appropriate and is a reminder to live life every day to the fullest.  Keep a smile on your face, give thanks for your blessings and live life large!  Merry Christmas

Hilton Head Gang Mug Shot 4

The Hilton Head Gang is a group of notorious artists who attended Karin Jurick's workshop on Hilton Head Island.  Each week, a mug shot fromt he group is featured.

It is week four and Jennifer “JLo” Koach is the subject of this weeks search.  Her uncanny resemblance to ... well,  you know who...allows her to weasel herself into otherwise unavailable venues.  Before her true identity is revealed she assimilates herself into the situation and shoots at will.   Jlo charms and disarms her victims.  By the time they realize what is happening...it is too late...they are photographed and the subject of a painting.

She left Hilton Head Island surrounded by her entourage...She is definitely NOT “just Jenny from the block”...

For more information or clues to her whereabouts check out her blog at: http://jenniferkoachart.blogspot.com/

I have asked Santa for Photoshop.  My photos lack a lot and that is something I will be working on in the future.  The mug shots are a lot of fun and have helped me step out of my safe zone.

Hilton Head Gang #3

The hunt continues for members of the Hilton Head gang who have disbanded and departed for different parts of the country after creating a path of notable deeds recently in Hilton Head.

We are looking for Linda “the Joker” Popple.  Maria Hock, the lead detective, describes Linda as disarming her victims with humor and then shoots with reckless abandon.   Yes, Linda thinks she is funny...but her crimes are very serious.  Please be careful when confronting her.

You may read more about Linda "the Joker" Popple by reading her blog lindapopple.blogspot.com .

Posters are being prepared for the fourth member of the gang.

The Hilton Head Gang

We painted mug shots one day in Karin Jurick's workshop.  My man looked like Charles Manson.  We are now on the hunt for suspicious characters who were involved in all kinds of mischief.  The leader of the gang is pictured below. A shifty looking character to say the least.  More mug shots can be viewed at mariahock.blogspot.com.   More suspects will follow.

Red Neck Holiday

On day three of Karin Jurick's workshop, I worked on the painting below which I have entitled "Redneck Holiday."  This was from an actual photo that I took at a South Carolina beach.  I couldn't make up my mind whether the man was more interesting or the lady with her big belly in the bikini.  I think they just suited each other.  I bought one of Karin's (karinjurickblogspot.com) tabletop easels which I just love.

Karin's tabletop easel has spoiled me

Karin Jurick Workshop

I recently attended a workshop by Karin Jurick in Hilton Head.  It was a wonderful week with a group of artists from around the country and, would you believe it, Switzerland.  They were a talented bunch and we instantly formed a bond.  Karin is an outstanding person, a fabulous artist and a wonderful teacher.  We learned so much and she made it a lot of fun.  Everyone encouraged me to start a blog - so here it is.  I am learning as I go, so laugh with me.  Below are two of  my paintings.

This is my version of a painting that Karin demonstrated the first day.

I painted these ladies the second day of class - one lady named it "Shiny Butt."
