The Hilton Head Gang

We painted mug shots one day in Karin Jurick's workshop.  My man looked like Charles Manson.  We are now on the hunt for suspicious characters who were involved in all kinds of mischief.  The leader of the gang is pictured below. A shifty looking character to say the least.  More mug shots can be viewed at mariahock.blogspot.com.   More suspects will follow.

Red Neck Holiday

On day three of Karin Jurick's workshop, I worked on the painting below which I have entitled "Redneck Holiday."  This was from an actual photo that I took at a South Carolina beach.  I couldn't make up my mind whether the man was more interesting or the lady with her big belly in the bikini.  I think they just suited each other.  I bought one of Karin's (karinjurickblogspot.com) tabletop easels which I just love.

Karin Jurick Workshop

I recently attended a workshop by Karin Jurick in Hilton Head.  It was a wonderful week with a group of artists from around the country and, would you believe it, Switzerland.  They were a talented bunch and we instantly formed a bond.  Karin is an outstanding person, a fabulous artist and a wonderful teacher.  We learned so much and she made it a lot of fun.  Everyone encouraged me to start a blog - so here it is.  I am learning as I go, so laugh with me.  Below are two of  my paintings.
